The Bamlanivimab Treatment

If you have recently tested positive for COVID-19 and are suffering from mild to moderate symptoms—including fever, cough, and shortness of breath—we can now provide you with relief and help mitigate the possibility of worsening of symptoms or the risk for future hospitalization due to COVID-19. This relief comes in the form an outpatient IV administration of the investigational drug bamlanivimab.

This treatment is available to adults and adolescents over the age of 12 (and who weigh over 88 lbs) who have tested positive for COVID-19, but whose symptoms are not severe enough to warrant hospitalization.

What is bamlanivimab?

Bamlanivimab is an investigative drug that may provide relief from symptoms of mild to moderate COVID-19 cases and mitigate the possibility of worsening symptoms and the risk for future hospitalization due to 
COVID-19.

How is bamlanivimab administered?

This treatment is provided through IV as an outpatient procedure. The infusion will take up to an hour to complete.

Who is eligible to take bamlanivimab?

This treatment is for adolescents and adults who have tested positive for COVID-19 and are suffering with mild to moderate symptoms and are at high risk for developing severe symptoms or the need for hospitalization.

Who is NOT eligible for bamlanivimab treatment?

This treatment is NOT for patient already admitted in the hospital with severe COVID-19 symptoms. It is also NOT for children under the age of 12 or those who weigh under 88 pounds.

How do I get the bamlanivimab treatment?

To receive this treatment, you will need an order from your primary care provider. If you do not have a primary care provider, you can reach out to Mangum Family Clinic, at (580) 782-2000, to receive a COVID test and provide preliminary details to see if you qualify for the treatment.

How much does bamlanivimab cost?

The drug itself is completely free, however there will be fees associated the IV administration of the drug that your insurance may cover.

How to Get the Bamlanivimab Treatment

Get a COVID-19 Test

To be eligible for the bamlanivimab treatment you must have tested positive for COVID and be experiencing mild to moderate symptoms of the virus.

Speak with a Provider

Discuss your symptoms and any allergies. If your provider thinks you are good candidate to receive the bamlanivimab treatment, you will receive an order of referral.
